I got a new machinist job. I’m working 11 hour days and still working weekends in fast food. Needless to say all my other projects stopped. So I will see if I keep this job after the 3 month probationary period and post about financial plans.
Working in fast food for a while reminded me of why I started this. It’s to show that a better way is possible to my friends. That we can take humble beginnings and build ourselves up.
It’s been a month. Sorry about that. I got distracted by reading “Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.” I get distracted a lot it seems…
Anyway, my work area is in complete disarray because my father decided that my grandfather’s workbench (The one I use,) needed to be rebuilt. Then after that got fixed, the desk next to it decided to collapse, prompting another repair job.
I have realized that the majority of my problems are due to mission creep. What starts out as a small job becomes two, then three, and before you know it, you have an entire room dismantled.
Some people consider such a situation not only desirable, but the way of the world. They are not content if they are not surrounded by clutter of a dozen half finished projects, leaving a path of misery in their wake.
I will work on improving my focus. I will have to make my own work area where I can get away from the distractions.
